The civil society calls on president Muhammadu Buhari, the DSS and the police to order INEC to conduct the election on saturday.

Still on the now controversial Edo state governorship election, the Civil Society has called on President MUHAAMADU BUHARI, the Department of State DSS and the Police to order INEC to conduct the election on Saturday.

A group, Situation Room, a platform of Civil Society organization working on elections and good governance in Nigeria said the present situation appears contrived and threatens to truncate the democratic process in Nigeria.

It described the advice by the security agencies as gratuitous and unconstitutional interference in the independence of INEC.

The Situation Room also called on the people of Edo state to remain calm and vigilant.
