The Rio 2016 Paralympic Games opened to a backdrop of colour, music and a powerful message of inclusivity.
Thousands of performers were involved either side of the two-hour procession of competing countries at the Maracana.
The games which is in its 15th edition officially taking off in 1960 will see 159 nations with 4314 athletes competing across 534 events of 23 sports.
As competition begins this Thursday, Team Nigeria which colourfully unveiled 23 athletes participating in three sports; powerlifting, athletics and table tennis, will be in action.
