The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP has in the meantime asked President MUHAMMADU BUHARI to caution the security agencies to desist from doing anything that will jeopardize the elections this Saturday.
DAYO ADEYEYE, Publicity Secretary of the Caretaker Committee in a statement said that there is no way Edo state which successfully hosted the president during the APC rally on Tuesday without any hitch could now become so insecure to warrant a postponement of the election.
ADEYEYE described the request by the DSS and the Police as hogwash.
However, Edo state governor ADAMS OSHIOMHOLE in his reaction urged INEC not to postpone the election as doing so would only mean postponing the defeat of the PDP at the polls.
On his part, OSAGIE IZE IYAMU, the PDP governorship candidate for the election alleged that the planned postponement was a ploy by the APC to destabilize things and put the PDP at a disadvantage.
IZE-IYAMU however acknowledged that the possibility of a postponement was almost inevitable if the facts before him were correct.
