Senate to Probe Dalung, NOC over Rio No-Show

The Chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports, Solomon Ogba, has said the committee will probe the Minister of Sports, Solomon Dalung, and the Nigerian Olympic Committee, NOC over the country’s dismal performance at the just concluded Rio Olympics.

Ogba, who highlighted lack of funds and poor logistics as part of the reasons for Nigeria’s no-show in Brazil, said the senate will look into the circumstances when it resumes from recess next month.

Ogba, who was part of the official delegation to Brazil, also frowned at the 390,000-pound donation by Japanese surgeon, Katsuya Takasu to the bronze medal-winning national under-23 team, saying it is wrong for the team to accept the money- given all the happenings around the world.
