Governor ROCHAS OKOROCHA insists workers in Imo state must consider his proposal to only work for three days a week and use the remaining days to work on their farms

Governor ROCHAS OKOROCHA is insisting that workers in Imo state must consider his proposal to only work for three days a week and use the remaining days to work on their farms.

According to him, the proposal is part of the state government’s strategy to boost agriculture in the state.

Speaking in Abuja, Governor OKOROCHA said there was no big deal in taking two days of the week to work on agriculture because the civil servants spend those days attending to social activities anyway.

The Nigeria Labour Congress had criticized Governor OKOROCHA’s position, arguing that his proposal is not only strange but violates the principles of the International Labour Organisations, ILO.
