PMB seeks emergency powers to tackle economic crisis in Nigeria

President MUHAMMADU BUHARI is seeking emergency powers to tackle the economic crisis facing Nigeria.

To this end, the president is to meet with the President of the Senate, BUKOLA SARAKI and Speaker of the House of Representatives, YAKUBU DOGARA when the National Assembly resumes next month to discuss the modalities.

According to an exclusive story reported by the Nation newspaper, the move to seek emergency powers was initiated in an executive bill prepared by the office of the Vice President YEMI OSINBAJO.

The objectives of the action plan on the economy include shoring up the value of the naira, creating more jobs, boosting of foreign reserves, reviving the manufacturing sector and improving power.
