Nigerian Navy destroys Six large wooden barges in Rivers State

The Nigerian Navy has destroyed six large wooden barges laden with at least seventy thousand litres of diesel suspected to have been stolen from pipelines in Rivers state.

Commander of the Nigerian Navy Ship, NNS pathfinder in Port Harcourt, Commodore KENNEDY EGBUCHALAM who disclosed this said one suspect had been arrested in connection with the stolen diesel.

 EGBUCHALAM said the barges were impounded during a routine patrol of waterways and creeks within the Okirika Area in the state.
