Players and officials of the Dream Team have been sent home from the Rio Olympic Games.
The media officer of the Nigeria Olympic team Timi Ebikagboro and two alternate players Stanley Dimgba and goalkeeper Yusuf Mohammed are the casualties. The financial situation of the team in Brazil is reportedly responsible for this since the alternate players and the media officer are not on official list of the Olympics organizers.
However, the players reportedly could have stayed if the Nigeria Olympic Committee had decided so.
The Nff president Amaju Pinnick is expected in Rio to support the Dream Team.
Meanwhile, Samson Siasia and his wards spent a better part of Monday’s training session mastering the art of penalty taking as the take on Germany in the semis in the early hours of Wednesday.
In the same vein, some key players of the U-23 team have begged not to be distracted by officials of Team Nigeria, specifically insisting that they do not want the Sports Minister, Solomon Dalung, and his delegation’s visit before and during the match.
