Everton have completed the signing of Welsh captain, Ashley Williams from Swansea City for an undisclosed fee- believed to be £12m.
The 31-year-old defender becomes manager Ronald Koeman’s third summer signing- following the arrivals of Senegalese midfielder Idrissa Gueye and Dutch goalkeeper Maarten Stekelenburg at Goodison Park.
Swansea had rejected an initial £10m bid from Everton, but they accepted the upgraded offer, which takes the player to Merseyside on a three-year deal.
The signing comes a day after England defender, John Stones left Everton to join Manchester City for £47.5m.
Koeman is expected to bring in more players to the club before the transfer window closes, and the Toffees are in talks to sign Crystal Palace midfielder Yannick Bolasie and Sunderland defender Lamine Kone.
