Novak Djokovic suffered another Olympics defeat as he and 40-year-old team-mate Nenad Zimonjic exited the men’s doubles in round two.
The Serbs lost 6-4 6-4 to Brazilians Marcelo Melo and Bruno Soares in Rio.
The loss came a day after Djokovic was knocked out of the singles by Argentine Juan Martin del Potro.
Djokovic will be 33 at the 2020 Games, and he said Monday that “I really hope I will have another shot at the medal.”
The world’s top-ranked player is still seeking his first Olympic gold. Djokovic’s only Olympic medal is a bronze in 2008 in singles.
Djokovic said after Monday’s loss that he will not enter mixed doubles in Rio de Janeiro.
