West Ham United began life at the London Stadium with a 3-0 victory over Slovenian side, NK Domzale to move into the play-off round of the Europa League.
Having left Upton Park- their home for the past 112 years- in the summer, West Ham were starting a new era in the stadium that hosted athletics at London 2012, and Slaven Bilic’s men gave the Hammers’ fans in the stands a night to remember.
Trailing 2-1 from the first leg, Cheikhou Kouyate scored twice, while new signing Sofiane Feghouli added a third as the London team celebrated their move to the former Olympic Stadium with a convincing victory over their Slovenian opponents.
West Ham must now clear one more hurdle to secure a place in the Europa League group stage.
They will join 43 other clubs in Friday’s play-off round draw, which includes 15 losers from the 2016-17 Champions League third qualifying round.
