The police says it has charted a road map to peace ahead of the re-run elections in Rivers state.

This followed a meeting hosted by the Inspector General of Police, IBRAHIM IDRIS with the Director General of State Security, LAWAL DAURA and the Rivers state Governor, NYESOM WIKE.

Also at the meeting was the former Rivers state governor and now Transport Minister, ROTIMI AMAECHI and the APC governorship candidate in Rivers state in the 2015 election, Dr DAKUKU PETERSIDE.

A police headquarters statement signed by the Force Public Relations Officer, DON AWUNAH said the meeting deliberated on the need to guarantee a violence-free and credible re-run of the senatorial and House of Representatives elections which had again been postponed by the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC.
