The Islamic Movement in Nigeria otherwise known as Shi’ite has raised alarm over the deteriorating health of its leader, Sheikh IBRAHIM EL-ZAKZAKY.
EL-ZAKZAKY had been held in “protective custody” since the 14th day of December 2015 when the Movement clashed with the Nigerian Army in Zaria, Kaduna State.
The group expressed fear that EL-ZAKZAKY who had been under “protective custody at the Department of State Service detention facility, might die due to his failing health.
The Chairman, Resource Forum of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Professor ABDULLAHI DANLADI insisted that EL-ZAKZAKY needed urgent medical attention following injuries he sustained when members of the group clashed with the Nigeria Army last year.
He added that EL-ZAKZAKY’s wife and other members who were critically wounded were still in various military detention facilities across the north.
Professor ABDULLAHI DANLADI called on the federal government to release them and others in detention for proper medical treatment.
