The Self-imposed National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Alhaji AHMED GULAK, has dragged the party before the Court of Appeal asking it to stop it from holding National Executive Committee meeting or any other meeting outside his chairmanship.
In a motion filed by his lawyer, JIBRIN OKUTEPA, GULAK is seeking an order of injunction restraining the party from allowing any order person to act as National Chairman to preside over the meeting.
He also prayed the Court to restrain the Acting National Chairman and the Secretary of the PDP, UCHE SECONDUS and Professor WALE OLADIPO or any other person from presiding over any of the party’s meetings.
AHMED GULAK insisted that until a superior court overturns the Justice BABA HESEEIN judgment of December 16, 2015, he is the only one legally allowed to occupy the office of the national chairman of the party.
You will recall that the Chairman of the PDP Governor’s Forum, OLUSEGUN MIMIKO had ordered the party’s Secretary Professor OLADIPO to take over the position of the acting national chairman from SECONDUS in an attempt to stop AHMED GULAK.
