Aguero’s winner sends City into Capital One Cup final

Manchester City overturned a 2-1 deficit to beat Everton and set up a Capital One Cup final date with Liverpool after an interesting game at the Etihad Stadium.

Fernandinho, Kevin de Bruyne -who came on as a substitute- and Sergio Aguero all for scored for City as they beat Roberto Martinez’s men 3-1 on the night and 4-3 on aggregate.

Kevin de Bruyne completed the comeback which levelled the aggregate scoreline to 3-3 in the 70th minute although it was controversial as the ball had crossed the goal line before Raheem Sterling made the cross which was turned in by the Belgian.

Everton could not recover their composure and Sergio Aguero scored the winner as Manchester City sealed their place in the final on 28 February.

They will face Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool at Wembley in their fourth major final in the past six seasons.
