At least twelve people have been killed when about five suicide bombers launched an audacious daytime attack in a market in the town of Chibok.
An eye witness says the casualty toll is not conclusive and many people have been injured.
The blast happened at three different places as people gathered to trade during the town’s market day.
The attackers are believed to be members of the Boko Haram and two of them are still at large.
People are shocked at the sheer scale of the attack despite the presence of security forces in the town.
Chibok is the town where Boko Haram insurgents kidnapped over two hundred girls in April twenty fourteen, sparking global outrage and bringing the Bring Back Our Girls hashtag.
