Pinnick and Giwa come close to fist as new battle for NFF presidency brews

The conciliatory meeting called yesterday by the Minister of Sports, Barrister Solomon Dalung in settling the leadership crisis in the Nigeria Football Federation did not go as planned as current NFF president, Amaju Pinnick and Chris Giwa who is laying claim to the position almost engaged in a fight.

Giwa’s claims to the top position in the NFF dates back to the August 2014 elections after he claimed the outcome of the election which produced the current board of NFF were rigged.

Both men have since been involved in long battle despite Giwa losing his appeals both in Fifa and the Court of Arbitration for Sports.

Giwa’s re-ignited interest in the post called for the meeting but Dalung intended plan to placate things did not end well for all in attendance.

Date for a new meeting has not been scheduled.
