The National Publicity Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, OLISA METUH is currently cooling off at Kuje Prison.
This follows Friday’s decision by a Federal High Court sitting in Abuja to remand the PDP spokesman in prison custody after his not guilty plea to a seven count charge of corruption, criminal breach of trust and money laundering.
OLISA METUH was dragged before the court by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC.
METUH was led to the court by operatives of the EFCC less than twenty four hours after he sued the anti-graft agency for violating his fundamental human rights by keeping him in custody without charge.
On entering the court, the prosecution arraigned METUH on a seven count charge of corruption, criminal breach of trust and money laundering.
According to the charges, Mr. METUH allegedly transferred the sum of one million U.S Dollars to one SIYE IYENUME thereby committing an offence contrary to section one of the money laundering act.
He is also accused of benefiting from the two point one billion dollar Dasukigate funds.
