Defending champion Serena Williams will begin her Australian Open campaign against Italian, Camila Giorgi, following the draws on Friday.
Giorgi is the highest-ranked unseeded player at the tournament.
The top seed has not had the most ideal preparation for the first Grand Slam of the year, as she was forced to pull out of the Hopman Cup because of a left knee injury.
Williams has however played down concerns about her fitness as she attempts to win a seventh Melbourne crown, and a twenty- second major title- which will move her level with the great STEFFI GRAFF on top of the Open Era list.
The world number one is in the same quarter of the draw as Maria Sharapova, while Petra Kvitova is a possible semi-final opponent.
The other half of the draw is headlined by second seed, but she may have to get through Garbine Muguruza and Victoria Azarenka if she is to make the final in Melbourne.
The Australian Open begins on Monday, January 18.
