Nigeria began her FIFA U-17 Women World Cup qualification to a super start with a 4-0 win over Namibia yesterday.
The first-leg qualifier, played at the National Stadium, Abuja, saw Coach Bala Nikyu’s team run their Namibian counterparts ragged, thanks to Rasheedat Ajibade’s brace.
Ajibade opened scoring in the 31st minute, before Aku Cynthia doubled the lead in the 36th minute and Peace Efi netted a great goal in the 42nd minute – all three goals ensuring Nigeria ended the first half with a commanding 3-0 lead.
The second-half began with the Namibians attempting to approach the game with more purpose, but Ajibade was on hand to complete a miserable evening for the Namibians, when as she troubled the Namibian defence to get her second for the day in the 67th minute.
The second leg clash comes up in Windhoek, Namibia, in two weeks.
