ARMY STATES”NO REGRETS IN ZARIA CLASH”

The Nigerian Army say it has no regrets in the clash between soldiers and members of the Islamic Movement of Nigeria in Zaria, Kaduna state last year.

The Army insisted that the Shiite members attempted to kill the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General TUKUR BURATAI, noting that an assassination attempt on the Chief of Army Staff was akin to attacking a sitting president.

The General Officer Commanding One Mechanical Division, Kaduna, Major General ADENIYI OYEBODE therefore warned the Shiite group and other Islamic sects against violence, declaring that the Army would not fold its arms to watch Nigerians molested.
