The home-based Super Eagles continued their preparations for the African Nations Championship with a 3-0 victory over the University of Pretoria Football Club in a test game.
Sunshine Stars forward, Tunde Adeniji grabbed a brace- the first from the penalty spot- while midfielder, Ifeanyi Matthew also got on the score-sheet as the Eagles completed a comfortable victory.
Two more friendlies are lined-up for the Eagles before they depart for Rwanda for the tournament. They will face Angola on Wednesday, before taking on Cote d’Ivoire next Monday. Both Angola and Cote d’Ivoire will also feature at the African Nations Championship.
The Super Eagles’ delegation will fly into Rwanda on January 15, ahead of their opening match against Niger Republic on January 18. Nigeria’s other opponents in Group C are Tunisia and Guinea.
