The home-based Super Eagles continued their preparations for this month’s African Nations Championship with a 3-0 victory over Rising Stars Academy in Abuja on Thursday.
The match presented an opportunity for the coaches to test out all the players in camp- and they fielded a strong eleven in the opening half while the second string took over in the second period.
Sunshine Stars forward, Tunde Adeniji set the ball rolling with the first goal before the interval, while second-half strikes from Bartholomew Ibenegbu and Samson Gbadebo completed the comfortable win.
The team is expected to depart the country for South Africa on Saturday, where they will continue their preparations for the tournament holding in Rwanda.
The Eagles have been grouped alongside Tunisia, Guinea and Niger Republic, who will be Nigeria’s first opponents on January 18.
