Salami, Mohammed opt out of Rwanda 2016

Warri Wolves star Gbolahan Salami has said he hopes in the coming week to cement a move overseas thus pulling out of the CHAN Eagles training camp in Abuja.

The striker’s absence from the training Camp had come under intense scrutiny as his 17 goals last season aided the Delta State club finish second in the NPFL and was looking to replicate his imperious form in Rwanda next month.

This is the third time Salami has been subject to a transfer abroad after collapsed moves to South African outfit Mamelodi Sundowns and Serbian club, Red Star Belgrade.

                                         Usman Mohammed

Another key player likely to be unavailable for selection is U-23 AFCON Gold Medalist Usman Mohammed, as the midfielder is set to sign for Norwegian club Lillestrom.
