Wave of attacks by the insurgent Boko Haram militants which killed more than fifty people in two days of violence in two states of the North East

In the latest blasts, two bombers struck a market in the town of Magadali in Adamawa state killing twenty five people.

On Sunday and throughout yesterday, several attacks in Maiduguri, the Borno state capital killed about thirty people and injured more than one hundred others.

Experts say the Boko Haram appears to be trying to prove they can still inflict widespread destruction.

The Head of the Military in Adamawa state Brigadier General VICTOR EZIGWU who confirmed the blasts in Madagali said the attackers were female suicide bombers.

In Borno state, the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA say it evacuated the injured to three hospitals in Maiduguri for treatment.
