The Super Eagles began preparations for next year’s African Nations Championship (CHAN) yesterday in Abuja, without ailing coach Sunday Oliseh as assistant coaches Salisu Yusuf and Jean Francois Loscuito supervised training.
He will be in touch with the camp via Skype and telephone, like he did when they played the second leg of the qualifiers in Burkina Faso.
Oliseh who named 26 players for the training camp will be open to the possibility of adding some of the stand-out players from the U-23 AFCON in Senegal.
However, all of the players have been ordered to report to camp by today’s deadline with the exception of Usman Mohammed and Bature Yaro, who were part of the victorious U-23 National Team. They have been excused from camp for a few days to rest.
The CHAN Eagles are scheduled for a training camp in South Africa later this month where they will face Cote d’Ivoire in a warm-up match fixed for January 9 2016 with Oliseh likely to join the team there.
